andy___chris:

joining us business develope consultant branding specialist and well known dental person well known dental personality a well known welcome jane how you doing
jayne_sproson:
i’m very well and i’m really
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
pleased to be doing this with you because you know because i know it’ll be fun
andy___chris:
oh bless you bless
jayne_sproson:
reason
andy___chris:
you
jayne_sproson:
because
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
it will be fun and we’ve known each other for quite a while there
andy___chris:
it’s been a fair one s been a fair while actually
jayne_sproson:
yes quite
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
yes but we won’t go there yet we won’t deep
andy___chris:
but you say the fun thing jane but when when we kind of sat down and sketched out why we wanted to do this we said one it would be lovely to hear it was life stories because everyone’s interested in everybody else too
jayne_sproson:
sure
andy___chris:
we can share some business in the way but they naturally just coup those conversations
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
and the last bit is it will be fun the interesting thing about that conversation about doing a podcast came about as a result of the downfall of clubhouse because when we used to do clubhouse
jayne_sproson:
you
andy___chris:
clubhouse was a live audio only social media platform when we all did it for a while and it was good fun and it as quick as it went but i was i was able to what we realized was that should have sold it when it was valued at a million dollars
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
when it was when it was live people had to be around in that moment or they couldn’t listen now by doing a podcast were recalled it we share across spotifyang apple and everywhere else some people can kind of consume it when when they want so it actually
jayne_sproson:
as
andy___chris:
started out as a result of the downfal of clubhouse
jayne_sproson:
but we did have we did have a club house yea though
andy___chris:
oh yeah it was it was a hope
jayne_sproson:
a super and and it kept us all going didn’t it but you know clip house is still going
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
on go
andy___chris:
it is it is yeah yeah not that i spend much time on it
jayne_sproson:
no well it seems to leverage your time much better if you’re doing a podcast doesn’t it
andy___chris:
you finally turned
jayne_sproson:
i
andy___chris:
my
jayne_sproson:
did
andy___chris:
notifications
jayne_sproson:
find it
andy___chris:
off did
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
you yes i used to keep popping up when i was thinking why do i want a glove
jayne_sproson:
the thing is compose s great for me because it didn’t matter
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
i didn’t have to do my head an’t have to put my make on you know you guys do it all the
andy___chris:
ah
jayne_sproson:
time but when i’m working from
andy___chris:
well
jayne_sproson:
home
andy___chris:
here i make up a
jayne_sproson:
he and make a parent
andy___chris:
yeah got my
jayne_sproson:
i
andy___chris:
lipstick on
jayne_sproson:
at other and i could be in my p and deliver some great content or actually get other people to deliver it because i ask the questions
andy___chris:
i think i think the worst thing with club house though was when you joined a group that was quite small and then people went oh hello i see christmas joined us you’re thinking oh damn i didn’t mean to join
jayne_sproson:
i don’t
andy___chris:
and then you have to subtly disappear
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
because it was the wrong
jayne_sproson:
yes
andy___chris:
group you joined i
jayne_sproson:
and
andy___chris:
did
jayne_sproson:
then
andy___chris:
that a couple of times not paying attention
jayne_sproson:
to come up on stage and actually you can’t because they’re actually doing something else and you feel really bad
andy___chris:
yeah yeah you’re
jayne_sproson:
so
andy___chris:
just
jayne_sproson:
i
andy___chris:
being polite
jayne_sproson:
am invited on stay today i have accepted and i’m happy to be here thank you
andy___chris:
exactly so that was our inspiration for starting this so
jayne_sproson:
i think he
andy___chris:
before
jayne_sproson:
did a
andy___chris:
we yea so before we get into your your mental experience and journey what do we need to understand about your upbringing to mate so who you are today jane
jayne_sproson:
i’m from i’m from north so you know
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
i can look from north and we we tell it how it is you may have noticed
andy___chris:
where where about look right well
jayne_sproson:
well can i just say this because when i was born here which was a long
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
time ago that because i’m back in north now i say i’m here
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
it was north oukshire and i’m sticking to that
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
okay it is no longer north yorkshire but i think that if i was if it was if it was at the time north yorkshire i don’t see why i can’t identify somebody from yorkshire
andy___chris:
all right have you become
jayne_sproson:
we
andy___chris:
another county then
jayne_sproson:
became another county yet not good so
andy___chris:
well
jayne_sproson:
yeah it came from the north and
andy___chris:
right
jayne_sproson:
from my background i think about me is my parents were real workers they wanted they wanted
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
to have things that were better than they had you know
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
dad was they were catholic my dad’s family were catholics
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
so there was twelve of them and this is like almost like that
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
what is it the monti python sketch you know about from yorktiar
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
dad used to go out liliqrodese six
andy___chris:
each
jayne_sproson:
out
andy___chris:
cool
jayne_sproson:
as and all that
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
but it is a little bit like that and
andy___chris:
yah
jayne_sproson:
so but they were desperately
andy___chris:
ye
jayne_sproson:
so i was born in middle said in middleboro which isn’t and so i was born there and they quickly took me to a very nice little middle class
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
village in county durham and i had a very nice ither and i only went back the other day and i ought well this is absolutely idyllic i’ve
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
forgotten what they did for me and they worked
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
so hard to do that
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
and so that dad worked
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
for a company and then he set up on his own on had a wonderful work ethic and i tought it was absolutely more of less amazing man because of the way he treated his stuff
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
so i think that has
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
also helped me in considering the way you treat people in business as well
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
so he gave
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
me some really i say he that sounds like my mom didn’t count but she did but i just had this thing with my dad
andy___chris:
my
jayne_sproson:
to me he had really sad values you know he was
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
a hard worker he respected other people
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
and he was actually he was a bit of an innovator but because men would let him spend any money because she was from ta
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
he should have been a business before then and he designed lots of things you know the little blue light for
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
the northern gas
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
when things like that you know he did that and but he didn’t get any money for it you know so he did a lot of things that were invited
andy___chris:
right
jayne_sproson:
he didn’t he didn’t cash in on so i’ve decided that’s not the right thing to
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
go and he was very ntjanyou must get into it you must be able to do computers know so he had that kind of vision
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
so i definitely took that from dad and then i think from it’s like talking about yourself it’s a bit tricky when you get old do you think i don’t care what people think so the fact is
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
had had a massive gene
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
spirit and i believe i am
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
very generous
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
to people i do try and deposit
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
something in the emotional bank account before i ask
andy___chris:
hm
jayne_sproson:
people for a favor so maybe that
andy___chris:
ah
jayne_sproson:
that is my bringing in a tiny little village in county durham with two parents who worked
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
very very hard
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
be brothers or sisters jane oh
jayne_sproson:
i have a younger sister who is in the police force i just say that quite as well
andy___chris:
yes
jayne_sproson:
so she’s in the police force she wanted to be an
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
artist and they thought that wasn’t a proper job tally wasn’t allowed
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
and but we did for a time we had my cousin living with us he was a boy and he was older than me and we had to look after him for various reasons and we
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
tried to adopt him but that didn’t that didn’t
andy___chris:
no
jayne_sproson:
work and i think he would have been better off if he had been with i won’t say that so it’s a bit of a strange one a strange one that can’t go in too much detail because that’s public we’ll
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
do that over a glass of wine sometimes that
andy___chris:
but
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
but it’s interesting
jayne_sproson:
yeah i did
andy___chris:
what you say about your dad interesting
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
wat you say about your dad and that kind of inn innovation and entrepreneur ship because when doing your to say it’s very difcwellet it
jayne_sproson:
is that
andy___chris:
the
jayne_sproson:
actually gin in that water glass i got is that what
andy___chris:
oh yeah yeah it’s not when you do lots of les move off to very quickly
jayne_sproson:
got james prose
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
better knock down the hard stuff
andy___chris:
exactly exactly sorry i interrupted that’s fine
jayne_sproson:
right sorry
andy___chris:
fine
jayne_sproson:
innovation in panton
andy___chris:
i’m going to a good point i’m getting in your own well
jayne_sproson:
says
andy___chris:
about
jayne_sproson:
somebody
andy___chris:
about
jayne_sproson:
else
andy___chris:
the exciting thing linking to innovation and entreprenerhip man on the second time well before your dental career actually started a jewelry business with seven
jayne_sproson:
it
andy___chris:
hundred and fifty pounds
jayne_sproson:
i did
andy___chris:
and took it to a two million pound turn over in a year which is ridiculous success or what did you learn through malcom i think it’s mad what did you learn from that business and that crazy growth because that is insane and how
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
did it
jayne_sproson:
that
andy___chris:
come
jayne_sproson:
was
andy___chris:
about
jayne_sproson:
insane and what that what that
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
taught me there was quite a number of things that taught me
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
first of all it definitely definitely made my
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
selling skills like really really refined and amazing
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
and the other thing
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
was that no matter no matter what was happening
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
you just put on your face and you got on with it i remember i had to go and speak in glasgow was living in near edinbrh at the time i had to go to speak in glasgow and i was really and i had a small child and i
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
thought i’m going to do it but i
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
just got in that car did it and then got me then collapsed
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
you know you build up this resilience i think and you
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
form you go do it whereas i guess you can hand the sick
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
note in when it’s not your business isn’t it and i’ll just
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
take a day off and yeah that doesn’t really happen in my life and so that was very good the other thing was team building on how very sensitive people are to
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
no no i’ll just step back and i didn’t realize that i could influence
andy___chris:
ah
jayne_sproson:
people so much
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
and how much influence
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
that that was gained on how much they hung on to those words and so
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
as i’ve got more mature very mature is now i’m
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
a little bit more sensitive to how
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
that message is delivered and modify how that
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
might be taken because
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
there’s a lot of people
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
i do like things on communication
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
and remember
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
doing a demonstration as a training
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
we were talking we were talking about one of the dentists going and going
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
going into from n h to private so i said
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
let’s do demonstration so i thought i was really good at this so i got them and i said well this is how you talked to this person which you know
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
and i said and how is that that was terrible
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
so the wonderful thing is is that
andy___chris:
yes
jayne_sproson:
you’re always learning isn’t it
andy___chris:
oh completely
jayne_sproson:
i think that’s really
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
important as well and i do i do understand that one of my triggers my motivating
andy___chris:
my
jayne_sproson:
triggers is to learn constantly and i am like a
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
sponge so you know one of my clients was
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
saying i see you just did those branding strategist examples you bear
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
in mind that i i’m a lady of a certain age you know i can have the label she who must be obeyed now definitely and they said and they were like twin yes end with me and
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
i thought but why wouldn’t you want that level of competence why wouldn’t you want that never knowledge to share it’s to know
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
we’re giving them the best the very best
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
advice that you could possibly
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
also importantly
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
to know when you want you are not the right one to give that advice ulythat’s important
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
as well you know so we got stuck we do a lot of financial analysis on before
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
we do help people with conversion and there was
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
most of them we don’t have a problem but there was one that just wasn’t making sense at all so we said no no this is the
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
time when we need to go and get the financial adviser on and
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
because we were going
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
through it and through welcome so you have
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
to know when
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
you’re when you’ve got to ask for help
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
from person who has got more knowledge
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
it’s like when i ring you up and say you know what about this valuation do you think this isn’t worth
andy___chris:
yes
jayne_sproson:
looking at to sell rather
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
than convert you
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
know that’s not my but he isn’t one of the best days of my life
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
have to say i was forty three by the time at the end of it was you
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
know you don’t have to be best or everything
andy___chris:
no
jayne_sproson:
hey
andy___chris:
definitely not
jayne_sproson:
you said
andy___chris:
and you can’t be best at everything
jayne_sproson:
when you
andy___chris:
no
jayne_sproson:
said about childhood
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
i was head i was this i was that
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
i was quite high achieving and what that does or what it did
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
to me it made me think i had to have the answer for everything
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
that’s the
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
way i got the reward you know and so i was i was ancient i was forty
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
three before i realized that now you’re better off just surrounding
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
yourself with people who know better than you
andy___chris:
yeah definitely
jayne_sproson:
it’s like letting the ego go you know so
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
all these little lessons but you
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
were talking about this jewelry business and i’ve taken you peace haven’t i
andy___chris:
ye
jayne_sproson:
so team building
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
working smarter with my because i was doing see
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
hours was like doing seven days a week or something like that
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
what else did i
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
learn yes
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
i learned that celebrities take advantage what i said
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
you know
andy___chris:
yep
jayne_sproson:
liberties can take advantage and that was kind i guess that was the first type of influence and i
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
used influences then so used a scottish celebrity and we had a tell who the best one was bruce
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
forsyth he was
andy___chris:
oh really
jayne_sproson:
he was absolutely fantastic we did this fashion show because it was jewelry and we had
andy___chris:
a breezy bonus
jayne_sproson:
yeah he’s often but but
andy___chris:
is
jayne_sproson:
we had this and we had a well known news caster and then we had bruce and he gave you the bonus because he came in before he talked to everybody he set everything out he didn’t escape straight away he did the
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
autographs and he charged a lot of money the
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
newscaster also well now both mo main and land
andy___chris:
we
jayne_sproson:
on
andy___chris:
gloss over the name
jayne_sproson:
gloss over that name
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
i’m sorry miss doesn’t have
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
the right outfit for that night so we need a budget for for an outfit and then it was all these are the demands and it was for her it wasn’t like she was giving them to charity or anything it was for her and
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
and then what else do they do they were in at the last minute
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
they weren’t terribly friend they
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
did their job expertly so the
andy___chris:
can’t
jayne_sproson:
technical
andy___chris:
believe it’s
jayne_sproson:
bit
andy___chris:
not
jayne_sproson:
was
andy___chris:
angela
jayne_sproson:
marvels
andy___chris:
rippon she looks lovely
jayne_sproson:
that technical bit was but it was the customer
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
service that the small you know bits
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
that make the difference
andy___chris:
m yeah
jayne_sproson:
and have always been massive
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
on customer service to deferentiate you
andy___chris:
it’s funny isn’t it jane all those years later you still remember you remember the positive and the negative of how the
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
popular man with blond hair
jayne_sproson:
i’ll
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
tell you when we class fine
andy___chris:
yeah i always felt i always felt she looked a bit that one
jayne_sproson:
well i’m so tempted but i’m not so yeah
andy___chris:
yeah remain nameless
jayne_sproson:
she was off and guess what who who did we ask again
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
and that
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
that taught me again
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
you know always that depositing an emotional bank account
andy___chris:
m oh
jayne_sproson:
look for the long term like you guys do you’ve always done that you’ve always
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
had this sort of long term sis in able business rather than how can we get the money
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
out of a punt
andy___chris:
absolutely
jayne_sproson:
and that’s why
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
they always will give you a ring and go
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
i know you look up
andy___chris:
and and i think that’s dentistry is where i think dangerous tes people talk about careers and careers spend decades
jayne_sproson:
oh
andy___chris:
of time i think it’s important to the on going should have made more money if we did a little bit miss than honest
jayne_sproson:
i’m sure you could but we would
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
have missed the jokes on linked in i say
andy___chris:
got to restart them actually
jayne_sproson:
to
andy___chris:
now now i’m back from holiday you see exactly
jayne_sproson:
you do i mean
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
i for one am missing them so please this
andy___chris:
i’ll
jayne_sproson:
is
andy___chris:
do my best
jayne_sproson:
this is the other thing as once you start something then you stop it
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
a bit of an issue isn’t it
andy___chris:
exactly so rolling back so you started your career you were a consultant with den plan
jayne_sproson:
come to
andy___chris:
thirty
jayne_sproson:
you
andy___chris:
years ago and
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
now den plan is very well and she was well exactly
jayne_sproson:
that’s when i
andy___chris:
what
jayne_sproson:
rise that was
andy___chris:
you see what i did exactly
jayne_sproson:
yeah i see
andy___chris:
very
jayne_sproson:
what you’re
andy___chris:
smart
jayne_sproson:
doing obviously
andy___chris:
but now it’s well known you know coss
jayne_sproson:
very
andy___chris:
then to
jayne_sproson:
strong
andy___chris:
see everybody
jayne_sproson:
brand
andy___chris:
heard of the plan but
jayne_sproson:
yep
andy___chris:
you were back the beginning only started in eighty six so you were there only been running for a few years so what
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
what was it like being at the play in the early days of developing patient
jayne_sproson:
it was
andy___chris:
plans
jayne_sproson:
absolutely fantastic and you will still hear names now
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
in different companies of the people you know that i was with so mark adams you know mark
andy___chris:
yeah oh
jayne_sproson:
and you’ll know nigel jones
andy___chris:
that
jayne_sproson:
this plan he
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
was the best boss i ever had he was
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
i’ll have to tell you a story about nigel jones if i’m sure you won’t mind
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
and then also jane janis charlton she
andy___chris:
yes
jayne_sproson:
in
andy___chris:
a p
jayne_sproson:
so
andy___chris:
p d now
jayne_sproson:
absolutely a drink so
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
with all these people if you like out of that out of that stable that we had this
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
real passion to do
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
the right thing for the class and and the training we got thent was hovieutly the second time we weren’t allowed to see a client for three months before we went on the road
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
and we were taught suicide ernest i was thinking
andy___chris:
really
jayne_sproson:
that sounds a bit rough there
andy___chris:
wow that’s
jayne_sproson:
stay
andy___chris:
quite
jayne_sproson:
out i managed
andy___chris:
it isn’t it flip
jayne_sproson:
o cracky on first day out i used it that is how
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
prepared they were i think it’s split down i’m not going to run them down but i’ve always got den plan to thank me for
andy___chris:
yeah ah
jayne_sproson:
the thorough initiation you really need
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
for the dental market they were
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
amazing company and of course people buy they sell on and they buy on things so i don’t know what it’s like now i just have some or connections with them but it was it was phenomenal it was it was entrepreneral they allowed me basic that’s your area
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
go out and get these dentist to recruit patients
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
and when i went in i was covering bradford
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
so bradford i loved
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
it because i had to go first client and bradford rocket into the car
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
park and
andy___chris:
ah
jayne_sproson:
it said it was right next to get this because the place called idle you know idle in bradford idle
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
men’s working club
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
so i just if i had if i’d had an i phone then i would have
andy___chris:
you do take a picture yeah
jayne_sproson:
instagrumnso i did bradford and leads and york and harriet harriet was totally partial so so i covered all that area and basically as long as you got the numbers in you could do we had to produce a business plan
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
we got on with it and when i went and everybody was going to boot
andy___chris:
right
jayne_sproson:
so i thought cracky i’m going to do this then so it was a case of my plan was to go
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
and see the key clients and say what do we do to keep her what’s gone
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
wrong and that’s that’s how i started off and i made my name like that and of course i
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
haven’t come from dentistry so i had to i had to go and do something
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
to prove myself because a lot of them were like
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
x nurses or x whatever
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
what can i do so when the british
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
gentle health is it that one of those anyway and they
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
did certificate and dentistry for non clinical people and i’m not science at all i’m definitely
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
not science and i thought
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
i got to read this and pass it so i told my top three cli i’m doing this so that have to do the work because i didn’t want to read about science it wasn’t doing anything for me so i did it and i got whatever it was the highest thing because obviously because i was head going i
andy___chris:
hm
jayne_sproson:
gain
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
so i did that and that gave me some credibility with them that they could see that i was interested and it wasn’t just a job
andy___chris:
good for you
jayne_sproson:
so that was important to me because this is there
andy___chris:
uh
jayne_sproson:
this is their life in so it was ah
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
that was a very long answer wasn’t it was phenomenal and it was fun it was entreprene
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
entreprenerial and my motivating trigger i learned
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
masses absolutely
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
masters about
andy___chris:
brilliant
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
and then after that you then went on to open a dental practice into creating ascetics and lots of people listening to this now would be like well what’s the big deal
jayne_sproson:
me
andy___chris:
but
jayne_sproson:
about that
andy___chris:
when you did it back there and that was kind of trail blazing stuff wasn’t it so why did you do that what challenges did that bring about
jayne_sproson:
well
andy___chris:
because that wasn’t a traditional way of working
jayne_sproson:
al it wasn’t
andy___chris:
oh uh
jayne_sproson:
it wasn’t i read when jonathan and i opened that practice i’ve been reading
andy___chris:
so just for those that don’t know
jayne_sproson:
that’s my
andy___chris:
john your husband’s a dentist isn’t he yeah
jayne_sproson:
jonathan’s
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
posen he
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
he was
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
dissatisfied with his practice arrangements
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
and i said like you either put up and shut up or do something about it for that’s me
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
isn’t it so i started doing
andy___chris:
how did
jayne_sproson:
that
andy___chris:
you meet him jane so just going back did you meet him being den plan
jayne_sproson:
i met him through denplanyyeah you would and i did not want to i said i would never ever date a dentist
andy___chris:
yeah oh there we go
jayne_sproson:
so yeah it must have been a soft spot
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
there
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
so i went
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
went and did some research
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
and there was this guy called perry six and how how is that not a marketing
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
name perry six
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
it was the number six and he wrote
andy___chris:
uh
jayne_sproson:
he wrote a book
andy___chris:
uh
jayne_sproson:
called open wide
andy___chris:
is he the guy was it something like demos or something
jayne_sproson:
that’s it the devils report he
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
is good man
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
ye
andy___chris:
i remember see
jayne_sproson:
we get a start for that
andy___chris:
thank you
jayne_sproson:
so ye
andy___chris:
ah it’s that name perry six
jayne_sproson:
harry six part of change of mind from james
andy___chris:
yah
jayne_sproson:
it’s not very rememberable so perry six
andy___chris:
become jane three
jayne_sproson:
so he wrote this book and i thought this is the future of dentistry and also there were other people in tinting me like paddy land because
andy___chris:
hm
jayne_sproson:
on the customer service and i thought this is how it should
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
be done why does it have to be this dreadful
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
experience you know that
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
i’ve got to see the dentist you know
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
dentist isn’t it
andy___chris:
m ah
jayne_sproson:
it shouldn’t be like that so i started to i’m a visionary
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
i don’t know you’ve ever come across kilbyanddexa have you ever done that one
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
we’ll do that
andy___chris:
no
jayne_sproson:
over a glass in well bits too
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
serious for this so i’m a visionary
andy___chris:
a lot of glasses and wine
jayne_sproson:
and at
andy___chris:
sounds like a bottle
jayne_sproson:
building let three so
andy___chris:
ah oh
jayne_sproson:
so yeah i’m a visionary and i just thought you know
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
how would i want it to be if i’m
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
the target market
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
how would i want to denteratbe i wouldn’t like want it to be that visit that everybody dreads and want it to have
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
a slight luxurious feel and
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
want it to have what we did
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
said right okay
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
how do we how do we make sure that the environment customers
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
service reflects what’s going on in the in the in
andy___chris:
ye
jayne_sproson:
the surgeries because
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
none of the painters know whether crown margins
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
the best they don’t know that but they certainly know if you’ve got
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
really fancy lose with stefan
andy___chris:
yah
jayne_sproson:
you’ve got beautiful
andy___chris:
h oh
jayne_sproson:
art on the walls and and when you come to reception they don’t say
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
take a seat with a miserable face
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
you know so it was i worked
andy___chris:
ye
jayne_sproson:
all those
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
what they sort callmsinis critical non essentials
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
and jonathan had like this list of
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
all this kite wanted and we’re dealing with the sins first you get your kit when the
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
money comes in
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
as denis would rather have the kid
andy___chris:
yeah yeah the technicians are really ultimate
jayne_sproson:
and then like the patient journey was how we designed that practice
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
and also the infrastructure
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
because you know you can go to
andy___chris:
yah
jayne_sproson:
practice and think but you don’t have anywhere for a patient care coordinate go you don’t
andy___chris:
and when was this jane when did you start that project
jayne_sproson:
was two thousand
andy___chris:
wow
jayne_sproson:
two thousand so yeah you see that was
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
on
andy___chris:
it was yeah
jayne_sproson:
and so you know there’ll be some big names that you know who enasthetics now
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
who talked to me to say do
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
you think this is a good
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
idea
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
so
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
i was going for my book
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
obviously preventative at that time
andy___chris:
okay
jayne_sproson:
and i thought this is a bit this is a bit scary
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
patient journey i can do this better so i started look into that as well
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
and
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
because i larktually think here’s the thing going back to the children thing my first sentence sitting in the pram was i’m not properly because i wasn’t properly so
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
that that is that tells you everything everything s got to be properly and kim who’s are other branding strategies
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
she’s actually got a
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
folder on it
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
in the drop box that says to
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
make properly okay so that
andy___chris:
wow
jayne_sproson:
kind of tells you about the standards i started off with
andy___chris:
i’m not probably
jayne_sproson:
i’m not
andy___chris:
i’m glad i’m glad you’ve told me that now rather than before when we did that thing in leads
jayne_sproson:
i’m not
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
you did it properly i was very pleased
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
with you
andy___chris:
thank you thank you thank you mom
jayne_sproson:
you must be obeyed so
andy___chris:
uh
jayne_sproson:
so
andy___chris:
h oh
jayne_sproson:
so yeah so we had to do it properly and that was the thing everything had to be
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
properly and i train for all of the team i did
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
a three day in and which might sound excessive but that’s what that’s how much i believed and you have to invest in your team so everyone all a dentist the hy genus everyone went through a three day induction pro
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
from which i had learned
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
from templar stuff
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
that we had from when we first
andy___chris:
i think it’s great we sort of do a similar thing no not so much as in three days but we make sure that any new team members they just have to start understand entustry because you know you have to explain what you know an end of dentists
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
and because they have no concept of dentistry
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
and and
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
as we deal with dentists it’s so important least they’ve got an idea over what our clients are talking about
jayne_sproson:
over a crown isn’t something you have on your head
andy___chris:
yeah exactly
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
and also when you’re only dealing one market i think we’ve all got a duty of care to understand that market well you know if we were operating
jayne_sproson:
very
andy___chris:
in
jayne_sproson:
very
andy___chris:
it you
jayne_sproson:
well
andy___chris:
know
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
i think it’s
jayne_sproson:
very very
andy___chris:
from
jayne_sproson:
well
andy___chris:
just credibility point of view but also i think if you’re interested in the people and the profession you want to understand it it’s not that you’re you’re doing it just because it’s your job you know we always say chris and i were both quite noisy were asking questions were like final out what’s going on and that’s easier if you know about the we’re talking to it
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
it becomes interested in research our team be interested because people can spot being interested in being sold to
jayne_sproson:
we did a three hundred and sixty degree thing they put
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
certain things in jane is curious
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
that was the polite way of saying she’s really nosy
andy___chris:
yeah curious nose their good traits their good
jayne_sproson:
there’s
andy___chris:
traits
jayne_sproson:
nothing wrong with it now
andy___chris:
i though we’re jumping around a bit here jane but you then you then sold that business and then you move to jersey in the channel line after that was that was that for business cause you were out there for a fair while weren’t you
jayne_sproson:
well
andy___chris:
boats
jayne_sproson:
it was we were we’re out there for five years we had a little interim where
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
where jonathan was in ludlow working for a corporate
andy___chris:
no
jayne_sproson:
which was always interesting to him and then
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
i was working i was doing some i did
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
some constuntancy for
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
a lovely lovely man who was an ex director of den plan
andy___chris:
right
jayne_sproson:
and he saw me this is the swanky bit i’ll just name off and he saw me at a dinner house of lords i love doing that don’t you and
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
he came over to me said chain said i needed to go into the practice so so i did but there was a partnership and it was a bit tricky because you know i if one not like you obviously you perfect partner if one person says so i think we ought
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
to do this you know so he
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
was clever and said look you just come across
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
and do this
andy___chris:
uh
jayne_sproson:
and then they can’t see you on a podcast
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
but that was cute
andy___chris:
uh
jayne_sproson:
and so just this so it
andy___chris:
h
jayne_sproson:
was kind of proving my worth if you like
andy___chris:
m right
jayne_sproson:
i went to prove my worth and the next thing we were there three days every month me and my pa like really transforming
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
the business which was a good business but
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
it was great but then there were a couple of things
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
with dentists and i thought crik they’re going to need somebody to fulfill this and obviously they don’t grow their own dentist in jersey
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
just said look you know
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
you can jonathan can come and do some
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
he can come and do some
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
locum for you because i know he’s finishing this contract with the if that suits you and then
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
they heard him speaking
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
at the b a c d and they said well we don’t want him to do and we want him hear the next thing i found out he’s over in jersey and i’m i’m still in thropshure so
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
you have to make make that transition but then we went
andy___chris:
my
jayne_sproson:
over and there were certain things had happened and there was about one one and a half days worth of dentistry for him on he wanted for so
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
they didn’t grow their own business development managers there that knew about dentistries though it was back to the cool face for me
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
to develop this business that
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
was very useful
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
because i had forgotten how
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
tough it was in operations
andy___chris:
but
jayne_sproson:
it was for the practice manager for the business manager for the operation manager so when this consultant comes along goes
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
well you should be doing this and why don’t you do this with all that great idea for the solution based for what
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
they want forgetting how time consuming
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
overwhelming an be and i probably
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
i also i really wanted to give really good value i didn’t want to be one of those consultants
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
that just took the money and didn’t
andy___chris:
yeah yeah
jayne_sproson:
supervise neglect he i didn’t
andy___chris:
and
jayne_sproson:
want to be one of those and so
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
i thought giving it at this pace was showing value and i was so wrong because
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
actually they were feeling like they were failing so that
andy___chris:
all
jayne_sproson:
was
andy___chris:
right
jayne_sproson:
enormous enormous lesson for me
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
so i say just like
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
we’ll go a pace dictate
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
and as long as i give value in those sessions then it doesn’t matter how long it takes so that was that was definitely
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
a pivotal moment epiphany for me
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
go back to the kill face because
andy___chris:
it was probably a great
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
experience as well actually because
jayne_sproson:
jersey
andy___chris:
it just as you say it just reminds you
jayne_sproson:
oh yeah
andy___chris:
of how hard it is
jayne_sproson:
is
andy___chris:
and then it also means that when you’re then talking to other people it yeah i’ve done this and i’ve done it quite
jayne_sproson:
is
andy___chris:
recently
jayne_sproson:
that absolutely because you know when we set up our own practice away on a business ball i was doing reception i was doing
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
practice management business development
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
management training you know i was doing all of these jobs i was
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
even clean the practice
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
every night because i couldn’t
andy___chris:
yes
jayne_sproson:
find gonna i couldn’t find a cleaning agency that would do it properly
andy___chris:
here’s
jayne_sproson:
so i did that
andy___chris:
a theme here
jayne_sproson:
so i did that
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
as well until i found somebody that i thought yea they can do it
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
as as
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
you know so well to the standards that we want
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
for our patients so
andy___chris:
ah
jayne_sproson:
so yeah well it was a really good lesson
andy___chris:
yeah oh
jayne_sproson:
the only thing i haven’t done i think is dentistry but even
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
then i did the nursing for for the esthetic
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
practitioners i said
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
that all i said i did i set everything up the
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
patient journey how to do
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
it yet
andy___chris:
you’ve given how much you’ve done jane and like you
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
say other than picking up a hand
jayne_sproson:
i don’t i
andy___chris:
you’ve
jayne_sproson:
don’t
andy___chris:
pretty
jayne_sproson:
look
andy___chris:
much
jayne_sproson:
so
andy___chris:
done
jayne_sproson:
make
andy___chris:
done everything else
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
what would you say your what was your son lowest point in business yeah
jayne_sproson:
oh
andy___chris:
good question
jayne_sproson:
i his point
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
in business yeah
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
this is a game one of
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
the motives are like i think his point was
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
when somebody said to me somebody
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
actually wrote in their book
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
they wrote a book and they dedicated it at the front and said
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
i’d never have been able to achieve my dream if it wasn’t for james prason
andy___chris:
wow
jayne_sproson:
five
andy___chris:
that’s nice
jayne_sproson:
because i believe that i’m here to
andy___chris:
that’s lovely
jayne_sproson:
make other people’s success and when we do business transformation for people we always say
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
you know what does winning look like to you
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
i think i asked that question mine when we were there on the first night in
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
london
andy___chris:
i think when we did those those
jayne_sproson:
we
andy___chris:
events
jayne_sproson:
just in
andy___chris:
together yeah
jayne_sproson:
it’s not
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
about us going in and saying well you need to do this and you need to do that
andy___chris:
yah
jayne_sproson:
now our advice
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
goes on what does winning look to it to you because what you want
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
is different to what somebody else wants
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
that’s it goes so yea that was the high s the lowest point there have been a few lowsutbeing
andy___chris:
uh
jayne_sproson:
ripped off a
andy___chris:
h
jayne_sproson:
million quit that’s not yeah why do you tink i’m still working that was that
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
was
andy___chris:
flip
jayne_sproson:
great lesson though just didn’t really want to learn that one but
andy___chris:
no it’s an expensive lesson
jayne_sproson:
was time when we lost a lot of stuff it was you know you know when one goes it’s like it’s like a domino effect
andy___chris:
yeah yeah
jayne_sproson:
and
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
i didn’t i didn’t have the
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
i didn’t have the experience i didn’t and i didn’t know that there was somewhere somewhere that i could have gone for help to do that
andy___chris:
right
jayne_sproson:
and i think
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
that was it i didn’t know where to go for help and i didn’t think up to me to go for help i should have been
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
able to do that on my own and that was another lesson seven less
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
i learning
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
but yeah that that was that was a real though because
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
without going
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
into too much tell
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
there
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
were a lot of lies being told and i don’t
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
mind what anybody says just make sure s the truth
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
i don’t care if
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
you like me you love me hate me
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
but tell
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
the truth
andy___chris:
be honest be out front
jayne_sproson:
be honest about it and
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
they weren’t being honest about it and
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
that that killed me yeah
andy___chris:
yeah that hurts
jayne_sproson:
it really has
andy___chris:
insidious seaters isn’t it in your own
jayne_sproson:
it
andy___chris:
business
jayne_sproson:
was
andy___chris:
and it’s like
jayne_sproson:
and it was
andy___chris:
it
jayne_sproson:
and it wasn’t fun either when when some of them went to practice and that practice started bringing up patients and saying we can do dentistry cheaper o you know
andy___chris:
not so moving on to the next you know evolution of jane bruce and you’re now you’ve got your chance interview to marketing qua vocation is strategic digital marketing and sea level brand strategist what is a sea level brain strategist
jayne_sproson:
eh
andy___chris:
explained to us what that
jayne_sproson:
what’s
andy___chris:
is
jayne_sproson:
a
andy___chris:
ye
jayne_sproson:
thank you it’s like
andy___chris:
see what i did then i did
jayne_sproson:
i didn’t
andy___chris:
i
jayne_sproson:
see
andy___chris:
did
jayne_sproson:
that what did you do
andy___chris:
i said it’s a crap level just
jayne_sproson:
we you could
andy___chris:
i’m just for those listeners it obviously isn’t gang going to tell us i’m just
jayne_sproson:
a
andy___chris:
going for a cheap joke there oh
jayne_sproson:
you’ve had three though okay
andy___chris:
uh
jayne_sproson:
so that’s enough
andy___chris:
uh
jayne_sproson:
all right
andy___chris:
okay thank you
jayne_sproson:
a triple triple comedy
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
so c level and so
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
basically i can go into into the board room and do at that level so yeah
andy___chris:
right
jayne_sproson:
that’s what you can do that’s the sort of things
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
that we have to do to qualify
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
to give brands that you would know some
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
advice that they were like our case to days if
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
so
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
and so
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
for me applying that to dentistry is
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
just like a dream because
andy___chris:
i mean in a way you’ve sort of played it down a bit really but you know we we both
jayne_sproson:
chris
andy___chris:
worked for large
jayne_sproson:
you played it down by saying crap
andy___chris:
i’ll build you up
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
again now but we worked with big old banks and stuff like that
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
and you know to get someone into our board room to talk about our our strategy
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
that’s a big deal not like it’s not like you wander in and rock up and you get a little power point
jayne_sproson:
kay
andy___chris:
because there are people in that room where ere going to give you so much as
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
well explain that to me tell me why we should do this you ultimately you sort of played it down a bit but it is quite a big deal brandon’s become a big deal i know you kind of you repeatedly say brandon is not a low go because people still think that if you get a low go the job’s done it’s way
jayne_sproson:
can
andy___chris:
more
jayne_sproson:
all
andy___chris:
than
jayne_sproson:
go
andy___chris:
that
jayne_sproson:
to five for that can’t we you know
andy___chris:
exactly
jayne_sproson:
why
andy___chris:
but i
jayne_sproson:
do
andy___chris:
think you’re i think you’re at the right time because i think a lot of people are thinking much more deeply about what the brand is and what their values are and what they stand for and how does that fit with their are their team aligned you know the whole movement
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
is gonna be in an apple on it isn’t
jayne_sproson:
ah
andy___chris:
isn’t
jayne_sproson:
or
andy___chris:
the thing to
jayne_sproson:
please a tooth
andy___chris:
an apple or two and calling it smile or something
jayne_sproson:
yes exactly
andy___chris:
smily this or smily that
jayne_sproson:
yeah i’m sorry apologies to all of those people have got that but it’s not differentiating in whatsoever we already know you’re a dentist we already know what you do
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
is who do you stand for what you put and that’s how and
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
differentiate you marketing agencies will go in and they will start from the point of your target market sorry marketing agencies but that’s what i have experienced a lot of not those who obviously brand strategers who’s your target market and and
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
all of those type of questions and we’ll do a website
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
and we’ll get your co
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
and we start we start with
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
the brand which
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
is really its hue
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
no
andy___chris:
yeah it’s so true isn’t
jayne_sproson:
here
andy___chris:
it especially a dentist
jayne_sproson:
values it’s conditioning
andy___chris:
it’s
jayne_sproson:
you
andy___chris:
you are the brand
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
you carry the brand
jayne_sproson:
and we
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
find out your brand personality you know i’ve been analyzing your brand personality
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
i’m thinking ondrybetween that because
andy___chris:
he
jayne_sproson:
there’s a lot of jester in you
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
so but
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
yeah you see if you look at the n h s brand
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
you look at that log let’s do let’s talk about
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
identity because that’s the bit that people understand
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
n s is blue isn’t it the
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
blue banner and that is a good color
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
for kara because it’s a it’s a caring profession but
andy___chris:
good
jayne_sproson:
why
andy___chris:
color
jayne_sproson:
would
andy___chris:
podcast
jayne_sproson:
you
andy___chris:
as well there is good color podcastif
jayne_sproson:
it’s a good
andy___chris:
you’re interested
jayne_sproson:
cast that’s caring however
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
why would you
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
if you were trumsferring from any it’s just private for instance want your visual identity to be identity to be similar to chess or for instance my dentist
andy___chris:
yeh
jayne_sproson:
because they’re attracting an especially you’ve got to differentiate yourself and people do
andy___chris:
interesting
jayne_sproson:
under stand so yes it is important but it’s only part of it and we don’t
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
need people after
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
they have done their identity we do the organization
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
of branding so that the values and
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
all of that are actually within the whole company
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
therefore more productive less likely to be
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
i mean if you think of all
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
the things that happening you’ve got you’ve got dental tourism you’ve got people leaving the profession if you get you and right you attract the right people whether
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
tent or staff
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
whatever on is brand lives inside somebody’s head no it’s not yours
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
it’s how they perceive
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
you and so what we will
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
do is help people if you like being more
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
control of that narrative that
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
all this noise that they’re hearing and seeing of marketing
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
right now and look at all the platforms you’ve got that they’d be able to understand your run more quickly and don’t copy the person down the road cause they’re not you you can be inspired by them
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
you know you take memoria
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
roads look at her is absolutely fantastic
andy___chris:
yes
jayne_sproson:
it’s luxury its top end don’t
andy___chris:
yep
jayne_sproson:
do it unless
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
you actually top end because
andy___chris:
yeah that’s right yeah
jayne_sproson:
what’s going to happen you gonna have a misalignment with the provision
andy___chris:
ah
jayne_sproson:
of your service and what you do
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
and what they’re expecting
andy___chris:
but some like man now she understands who she is what she’s about who
jayne_sproson:
absolutely
andy___chris:
her audience is how
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
that has to look and feel and
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
she’s manifested that in in an amazing clinic
jayne_sproson:
absolutely
andy___chris:
everything abou you know hits the mark on who she is but
jayne_sproson:
everything is
andy___chris:
i think
jayne_sproson:
on
andy___chris:
i think the start point is not enough people to understand who they are and i think if you don’t spend enough time working out who you are you’re never going to be able to represent to yea
jayne_sproson:
absolutely so we we spend a lot of time on that an awful lot of time and then we will look at other things like what trends coming up we we also identify your evil what don’t you unto
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
stand for
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
you know at the end of the day why do you want to
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
market to everybody you don’t do it
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
get rid of the people that aren’t going to value because if you’re
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
going to go from an h s to private why jump from one tread mill another
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
get the practice you won’t
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
get the patients you want do the dentistry you want yeah
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
so
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
you so it goes away beyond that it’s not
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
the coloring in department is it chris
andy___chris:
the coloring in
jayne_sproson:
oh
andy___chris:
well it’s easy market brandy
jayne_sproson:
yep
andy___chris:
you mentioned a couple of times there jane as you’re talking about converting from n s to deprive so that’s how your career started at ten plan but that’s a big part of what you do now you help people convert
jayne_sproson:
m
andy___chris:
from n h s to private what’s what’s different today compared to thirty years ago when people converted you know at the beginning of your career to where we are now is it easier is it more difficult is there more of a general acceptance among patients to purchase private industry
jayne_sproson:
okay
andy___chris:
or there just different challenges
jayne_sproson:
that’s really that’s a very very good question that’s multilaed ready for this
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
what’s different there saying let’s take jonathan for instance a converted his practice one minit years ago not quite one million but almost and when he converted it there was
andy___chris:
yes
jayne_sproson:
what there was one plan provider available that was
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
down plan that was the only kid on the block
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
and
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
everybody else around him was an interest
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
imagine imagine
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
you know ice i see dentist every week they’re broken absolutely broken on zoom telling me about they’re financially
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
breaking emotionally breaking physically breaking up that’s not how it should be
andy___chris:
no
jayne_sproson:
and of course
andy___chris:
ye
jayne_sproson:
why is another discussion but
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
so but they’ve all got the same fears you know i’ve worked this hard and what it’s a popularity
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
contest of that what they
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
reject me can imagine
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
at putting yourself up it’s not just like for head girl or something this is
andy___chris:
come
jayne_sproson:
like your whole business your whole life stop
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
a couple of kids at private school or you aspire
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
to
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
those kids at private school or whatever iceflistuff
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
so the
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
one dante said to me
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
it’s like tell you what it’s like jane do you guys ski the other means you do don’t you
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
so you know when you come off the nursery slope slopes and all you can do is bends and easier
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
and then you get on to
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
the better ones you said it’s like coming off the nursery slopes you’re taking me down the black ground i’m breaking
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
it
andy___chris:
it’s ter fine
jayne_sproson:
so so those fears never change they will always remain and there are unspoken fears as well where am i actually
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
good and my clinical skill is
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
good enough to be a private dentist and never say that that is a concern you know what if what if i don’t get the vote what if they go to another acts what if what if what if all the time
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
so those that hasn’t changed
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
what has changed now
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
is that you’ve heard of dogs cats rats haven’t you you heard that one
andy___chris:
so there again
jayne_sproson:
dogs
andy___chris:
dogs
jayne_sproson:
cats
andy___chris:
cats rats
jayne_sproson:
it’s quite a rude rude way of describing patients but it just
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
it does an argy dogs are extremely
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
loyal cats are there for convenience you feed
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
them you know if you didn’t do
andy___chris:
ah
jayne_sproson:
that they’d probably go next door
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
and then the rats are they jump ship if they if they need to
andy___chris:
right
jayne_sproson:
so every dentist has number of dogs no matter how good or bad the entustry they will have a number of
andy___chris:
yep
jayne_sproson:
dogs they’ll go with them wherever they go so when that they move off that associate moves off they will take two patients bet
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
and then it is what it is and then you’ve
andy___chris:
a
jayne_sproson:
got a
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
pile of cats who maybe been coming to that building for fifty years the family
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
but they’ve been coming that’s been a dental practice for fifty years or whatever and
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
then you’ve got the rat you have been jumping ship
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
as every time somebody went private
andy___chris:
yeah yeah
jayne_sproson:
so what we’re doing what we’re seeing now
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
is there are more rats on the ship
andy___chris:
right
jayne_sproson:
so what we’ve got to
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
be very careful is we cannot apply the same rules that we did before is right okay
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
so this is your inert income what we need is this amount of people
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
at this rate come and do and you conversion be sorted
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
we go into far more
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
of giving a contingency
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
for those dentists now and because we are doing the hand holding and right the way through the whole thing
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
they achieve their target so you know we’ve converted a dentist
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
practiced recently in a very poor area
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
and they hit their
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
target of three thousand patients
andy___chris:
right
jayne_sproson:
we’ve gone somewhere where it’s a small term everybody talks to each other and they hit their targets and that’s that’s interesting so what’s different is that you don’t need the longevity as a dentist now that you used to have to be able to convert
andy___chris:
m m
jayne_sproson:
that i’ve been for eight
andy___chris:
interesting
jayne_sproson:
yes
andy___chris:
interesting yeah
jayne_sproson:
can come it’s still harder it’s easier if you’re a principle it’s easier
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
you if you’ve been
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
in there over
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
if you’ve seen your patients more than three times
andy___chris:
m oh
jayne_sproson:
we’re on to a better thing but if you see
andy___chris:
ah
jayne_sproson:
i’m i’m in it i’m going private and i’ve only seen once
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
tough isn’t it
andy___chris:
solid
jayne_sproson:
it’s a late
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
so
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
all these things we’re examining there is an acceptance of sometimes it’s reluctance but sometimes it just depends where where you are in the country
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
it is going to go private and then we often get
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
we wonder when you were going to do it
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
it’s also important for us to help protect their reputation in the community
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
we have a whole programme of
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
protecting that reputation
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
other wore because otherwise
andy___chris:
m oh
jayne_sproson:
it’s very very hard you know you get your phone and you can see all these
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
people saying horrible things about you the internet
andy___chris:
m m
jayne_sproson:
and they have to deal with that
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
we have a little strategy to help so there’s all sorts of new answers that people don’t think about but
andy___chris:
m m
jayne_sproson:
yeah is it is
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
it it was just different you have to have
andy___chris:
i’m gonna say it sounds like there’s just different challenges as
jayne_sproson:
different
andy___chris:
opposed
jayne_sproson:
challenges
andy___chris:
to it being
jayne_sproson:
then
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
it was that it was all those years ago
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
and that you’ve got a choice now plan providers you can go
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
for
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
all the bells and whistles on on as a branding
andy___chris:
ah
jayne_sproson:
strategist now and previously you wud ave been able to cut me in half and i would have bled that brand as brandon stress now i would say i would ask this question why would i want another brand dominate my practice i want
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
them to belong to my membership
andy___chris:
yeah control that yourself
jayne_sproson:
o yourself and also then i can control which consultants come in to advise me
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
so i’ve gone from you know that there
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
was there wasn’t the knowledge or the need two have all that now and now i think there’s you have to have business advisers to help you navigate
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
the private waters
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
it’s finding the right one for
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
you so the
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
yeah there’s an awful lot
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
the same there’s some
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
things that are different
andy___chris:
interest how is hanged
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
just just turn this challenge is just and to turn the tables on you jane does success look like for you
jayne_sproson:
what does success like look like well those good questions that what a success like like
andy___chris:
i’ve heard that question before
jayne_sproson:
that was more and there’s a number of things that that
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
are important to me
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
one is that i am
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
super
andy___chris:
ah
jayne_sproson:
happy with the
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
work i do
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
and i am very very fortunate to
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
have a good reputation not a crack one thank you chris in denry
andy___chris:
don’t just focus on that one word for cody’s sake
jayne_sproson:
would bring it up you went me a bottle now
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
so i’ve got a very good reputation never really needed
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
a website to be honest so that kind of tells you i do have a website but i didn’t never need one for business that
andy___chris:
yah
jayne_sproson:
that i know that
andy___chris:
yah
jayne_sproson:
when somebody comes to me transfer on the business
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
i know i can do it i don’t know i
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
don’t know that i’m
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
not going to be thinking i’ll be able to do this well i’ve got that
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
level of competence now
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
that experience that that i just bring it on i can deal with that
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
so that gives me happiness
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
because
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
i’ve learned all those things my family give me happiness we’ve got another grandchild coming because you’re you’re well known grand dude aren’t you and
andy___chris:
i am
jayne_sproson:
so
andy___chris:
and chris is as well chris
jayne_sproson:
i
andy___chris:
is as well
jayne_sproson:
know chris
andy___chris:
he recently joined the crew
jayne_sproson:
you
andy___chris:
yep
jayne_sproson:
that is the best the best club to be in is that is the grandparent club so that is important to me that i have time and can do things for them
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
yeah what i like to i like to have a nice nice home i’m not really that ambitious and i’m a bit boring really like
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
esthetics are quite important to me so this
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
where i’m sitting now i’m not going to show you the ship over there
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
this is the i
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
no no
andy___chris:
ah yeah
jayne_sproson:
so there was
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
lots of crappy stuff over there but this is all being designed
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
and that would be very pleasing to me to have
andy___chris:
right
jayne_sproson:
a beautiful place to work in
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
because i like i like it i like it properly it’s got to be it’s very
andy___chris:
that’s gonna vi on your tombstone
jayne_sproson:
she don’t properly
andy___chris:
yeah i like it properly
jayne_sproson:
now this could get it
andy___chris:
i don’t know why you sunday came from the west country that
jayne_sproson:
that’s very dodgy where is the way in
andy___chris:
that’s true yes
jayne_sproson:
it
andy___chris:
about
jayne_sproson:
does no to
andy___chris:
you
jayne_sproson:
oh
andy___chris:
you’ve had a eight hundred
jayne_sproson:
oh
andy___chris:
ou’vehad a real weaving career haven’t you jones
jayne_sproson:
oh yeah
andy___chris:
very interesting lots of kind of threads in there out consistency and good service and achieving excellence and even like combining esthetics with test bit it’s fascinating i think for where you are in dentist at the moment you know there’s a huge demand for that there’s lots of people who are
jayne_sproson:
yes
andy___chris:
exploring whether they want to continue delivering
jayne_sproson:
it’s
andy___chris:
dentatyvdnhs
jayne_sproson:
it
andy___chris:
or not
jayne_sproson:
it is massively opportunity for me but it’s like
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
what i’m doing now is like what i used to do but on speed because of all the experience and all the
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
knowledge and all things
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
are available now that weren’t available it’s
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
like well let’s
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
take that
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
and put it on speed and that’s what it’s like and we don’t
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
we don’t leave people at conversion we take them beyond because they no
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
competing in private
andy___chris:
yes
jayne_sproson:
practice have they have to at their game they can’t you can’t
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
deliver what you did before and expect people to choose you
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
to be their private practitioner or expect
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
to expect
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
them to retain those patients
andy___chris:
he
jayne_sproson:
even all that hard work
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
it’s a point of doing all that and then they walk out the back door to somebody else because i think
andy___chris:
that’s true
jayne_sproson:
it then if i’ve got to pay
andy___chris:
ah
jayne_sproson:
if i’m gonna have to pay for my industry no the crown thanks ramseing what’s out there
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
so
andy___chris:
it’s true choice choice
jayne_sproson:
so so after the panic bits over we’ve got to say come on why
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
are they choosing you and they’ve got to get those messages over and so we
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
we do a lot of time with the dentists and in the treatment rooms
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
to make sure that the messages are strong
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
to the patient that the whole patient experience
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
is absolutely properly
andy___chris:
oh ah
jayne_sproson:
achieving what
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
they need to achieve so
andy___chris:
that’s good
jayne_sproson:
it’s yeah organizational branding
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
then a bit of a log
andy___chris:
that’s good god jane we always interesting we finish up in the same way so we have two questions for you that our first question for you is if you could be a fly on the wall with somebody in a certain situation when and who would you be with
jayne_sproson:
a fly on the wall in a certain situation and so i think
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
i would have liked to have been a fly on the wall with the queen when she was
andy___chris:
ye
jayne_sproson:
with
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
um done what’s he called daniel what’s his face bond
andy___chris:
no you cry again
jayne_sproson:
because what wasn’t that magnificent i mean i know that i could give you something really serious and cerebral you know
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
but i would have i would
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
really like i just think it would be fun
andy___chris:
it was it was well done and i bet it was a hot
jayne_sproson:
i bet it was
andy___chris:
but
jayne_sproson:
i bet they have because she apparently had a wonderful sense of humor and i bet she’s needing one right now wherever
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
she is you know
andy___chris:
yeah i’m
jayne_sproson:
but
andy___chris:
sure
jayne_sproson:
i did i did think queen did it properly i really did i think she was a she was a
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
good brand ambassador that ever was on
andy___chris:
yeah definitely
jayne_sproson:
she was
andy___chris:
she was
jayne_sproson:
she was on
andy___chris:
she
jayne_sproson:
friend
andy___chris:
was incredibly well
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
fred of all lady
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
so whether this is going to be related or not but the follow up question is if you could meet somebody sit down with him with a glass of wine who would you like to sit down with
jayne_sproson:
ah well i would like to sit down
andy___chris:
ye
jayne_sproson:
with mary antoinette because you know what there’s
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
a lot of ladies we do moan a bit about we don’t have it as easy as you guys
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
but if you go back in history
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
they have to
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
really work hard really work hard
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
at
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
just survive and so to have
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
so to have somebody she left at her home at the age of thirteen or something
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
in another country
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
speaking another language where they were
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
mocking her
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
that’s you know you’ve got to have some some sort of amazing
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
resilience and some sort of just fantastic personality to have to deal with that
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
on
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
i know that she came to a demise but i just think it might be quite fascinating and you might learn a few things
andy___chris:
a
jayne_sproson:
how to deal
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
with situations
andy___chris:
yeah especially
jayne_sproson:
and i was
andy___chris:
when they were hungry
jayne_sproson:
an
andy___chris:
at the gates yes
jayne_sproson:
yeah there weren’t any anti antibiotics then so
andy___chris:
no
jayne_sproson:
how did they do that and
andy___chris:
yeah oh
jayne_sproson:
i just think also it must have been pretty fabulous i like the esthetics in magine all those palaces and what have you
andy___chris:
ah
jayne_sproson:
probably a bit stinky but
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
probably very beautiful
andy___chris:
very cold
jayne_sproson:
yes
andy___chris:
yes
jayne_sproson:
i actually very cold so i think
andy___chris:
ye
jayne_sproson:
there’s lots of different elements of that and that’s probably you know i probably say something you know i should
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
the teresa or something like that but i do like
andy___chris:
it’s right
jayne_sproson:
a a i i
andy___chris:
we’ve had some very obscure ones on you find we have
jayne_sproson:
but
andy___chris:
we
jayne_sproson:
i
andy___chris:
have
jayne_sproson:
do it
andy___chris:
it’s very very where we get a repetition that very
jayne_sproson:
i think
andy___chris:
anyone’s done hit someone do hit that
jayne_sproson:
yes
andy___chris:
i can’t remember
jayne_sproson:
you know
andy___chris:
we’ve
jayne_sproson:
what
andy___chris:
had some quite not weird that sounds a bit rude ever they were but
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
there’s been some very sort of light left field hasn’t they like
jayne_sproson:
my view is that you know there had you know hard lessons and hard stuff to
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
en live so i think she had a bit of fun in so that’s where i
andy___chris:
m
jayne_sproson:
was
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
looking at where can you find somebody who did something quite amazing but they also had a bit of fun that
andy___chris:
yeah
jayne_sproson:
that’s the person i could come up with
andy___chris:
no good answer clear
jayne_sproson:
my
andy___chris:
absolutely another
jayne_sproson:
clio
andy___chris:
one
jayne_sproson:
would have been right
andy___chris:
yah
jayne_sproson:
anybody like that
andy___chris:
yeah apart when i think about clear that just reminds me of carry on fillkinform
jayne_sproson:
it is that what
andy___chris:
form for me
jayne_sproson:
so you know that
andy___chris:
right
jayne_sproson:
i mean there are lots of people i would i would like to sit down and have a glass of wine
andy___chris:
i’m
jayne_sproson:
the
andy___chris:
sure
jayne_sproson:
part
andy___chris:
if we
jayne_sproson:
of
andy___chris:
could if we could have a long table that we’d have a lot of people definitely
jayne_sproson:
so yeah but can we the next time you invite me
andy___chris:
ye
jayne_sproson:
on because i know you will there was because i’ve
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
done it properly can we do a dinner party thing you who would you
andy___chris:
oh
jayne_sproson:
like for
andy___chris:
okay
jayne_sproson:
you could have more people and you could see that
andy___chris:
and then you could also say who you wanted to sit next to
jayne_sproson:
yes
andy___chris:
a well you could do you could do like a dinner party special couldn’t always a tricky one i ask people when you do dinner party
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
it next to
jayne_sproson:
yeah
andy___chris:
jane it’s been an absolute treat your inviting it’s been it’s been really good
jayne_sproson:
it’s
andy___chris:
it’s
jayne_sproson:
just
andy___chris:
been really good so we’ve lovely
jayne_sproson:
in
andy___chris:
just
jayne_sproson:
you
andy___chris:
to
jayne_sproson:

andy___chris:

jayne_sproson:

jayne_sproson:
